GBS is proud of the many employees, subject matter experts,
and network of contractors with diverse strengths
who work together to provide our range of global Sea-to-Sky services.
James has worked at GBS for nearly four years as Senior Project Manager, CIENA equipment Business Partner, IT Manager, and the GBS SCDMS System Administrator. He has led the technical and policy effort to achieve NIST 800-171 compliance for both GBS Corporate and SCDMS, and is preparing the company for the rollout of CMMC.
Prior to GBS, James was a contractor for Raytheon in the NSA at Fort Meade. He then started his 35-year career with Verizon as an Outside Top Craft Systems Technician, moving on to Voice and Data Special Services as an Outside Plant Planner for the Pentagon, Arlington, Crystal City and Columbia Pike Wire Centers.
James also worked on the Regulatory and Operational divestiture of Verizon Data Services after both the Bell Atlantic/GTE and the GTE/Verizon mergers. He served as Director for Verizon’s DSL and Layer 2 NOCs, and then as Director of Maintenance Engineering for Verizon’s Global Layer 1 Network and FiOS Passive Optical Network (PON) technologies.
James has an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
James’ hobbies include vintage Muscle cars and spending time with his family and five grandchildren. He is a 1st Degree Brown in Tang Soo Do and studied for his Black Belt.
