ON TIME, ON BUDGET
GBS, working on a professional services contract was engaged to develop a submarine fiber optic cable system (SFOC) solution for the U.S. Army at the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Test Site on the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
GBS senior consultants led the development and implementation of a 3000 km SFOC to connect Kwajalein Island to Guam.
The project was an overwhelming success and was delivered on time and within budget. GBS conducted all studies and business cases leading to the $100M acquisition.
Innovative Strategies for Complex Projects
GBS, working on a professional services contract as a subcontractor to one of the world’s largest telecommunications carriers, was engaged to develop a dark fiber solution to connect remote service delivery points on Guam. GBS consultants developed and facilitated an innovative cost sharing agreement and contractual arrangement between two military departments that resulted in significant cost savings to both organizations.
Today, nearly ten years after the arrangement was established, the innovative dark fiber solution continues to deliver cost-savings solutions to both the US Navy and the US Army.
