Nicholas Koopalethes Founder & CEO
Nicholas Koopalethes (Nick) is the Chief Executive Officer of Global Broadband Solutions (GBS), and one of the Company’s founders. GBS was formed in 1998, and since that time, Nick has served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. In June 2016, he was appointed CEO. He has more than 35 years of experience in all aspects of global telecommunications management and engineering.
Nick is a Subject Matter Expert and Principal Advisor to Senior Managers, Chief Engineers, Project Managers, and Military Officers concerning the planning, design, financing, implementation, and operations of advanced terrestrial and submarine fiber optic cable systems, and also high-speed satellite systems.
Nick is a Life Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). Nick holds a BS Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. He has completed graduate level studies at Baruch College, School of Business and Public Administration, and is a graduate of the Public Affairs Institute. Nick also holds an FCC Amateur Radio License, loves to dive, and an avid supporter for cancer research.
PETER SILLITTO Founder & Chief Operating Officer
Peter Sillitto is the chief operating officer of Global Broadband Solutions (GBS), and one of the founders. Peter served as Executive Vice President since the formation of GBS in 1998, and in June 2016, he was appointed COO.
Peter has more than 35 years of experience in business areas including customer service, sales and marketing, commercial and government contract management, strategic/financial planning, and extensive experience in business operations and executive management.
Peter is a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). Peter holds a B.S. Management, Canisius College, Buffalo, NY, and an M.B.A. Executive Management, with Distinction, Pace University, Pleasantville, NY.
BRAD YOWELL Director Subsea
Brad Yowell is the Director of the GBS Subsea business unit and a brings a wide range of business, telecommunications, program management and information technology expertise to the GBS Leadership Team. Brad has been with GBS since 2005 and, as a recognized subject matter expert, works closely with clients and strategic business partners to develop innovative submarine and terrestrial fiber optic cable projects and cultivate new business opportunities.
Under Brad‘s leadership of the GBS Subsea Division, GBS has expanded its Wet Plant Administration responsibilities to support the development and sustainment of cable systems operating in the Atlantic/Caribbean and Pacific regions through the development of comprehensive desktop studies and marine route surveys, leading the effort for GBS to become a member of the Atlantic Cable Maintenance and Repair Authority (ACMA), and also oversees the management of client’s Wet Plant spares, and help guide the company in securing a patent for the GBS Submarine Document Management System SCDMS).
Brad holds a BS in Finance from James Madison University and an MS in Information Systems Technology Management from The George Washington University. Brad is a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
R. BRUCE MORRIS Senior Program Manager
Bruce is the Senior Program Manager for GBS Special Projects. Bruce brings a dynamic range of architectural, engineering, and operational expertise to the GBS Leadership Team. Bruce is an industry-wide, recognized subject matter expert with extensive experience designing, engineering, building and managing major telecommunications and R&D projects.
Bruce’s current focus includes working closely with clients to develop specialized solutions for all facets of submarine and terrestrial fiber optic cable design, implementation, operations, and life-cycle sustainment.
While serving as COO of the Great Eastern Group, a GBS strategic business partner, Bruce led business units specializing in Marine Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Submarine Fiber Optic Cable and Alternative Energy Development projects.
Bruce is a FAA Commercially Licensed Small Unmanned Aircraft Pilot and is integrating drone video offerings into the GBS cable route engineering services and holds an USCG 100 Ton Boat Captain's license and FCC Amateur Ham Radio license.
Bruce is a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA); Homeland Security Professionals; National Contract Management Association (NCMA); and the Professional Association of Diving Instructors Certified (erPADI).
Bruce’s community activity includes Chairman of the Catholic Charity Fund Appeal Diocese of Rhode Island; Past President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge Barrington, RI; and WJAR NBC10 Home-Pro on air personality for Southern New England. His hobbies include Salt & Fresh water fly fishing, local and regional Amateur Trap shooting and golf.
