Nicholas Koopalethes
Co-founder and CEO
Nicholas Koopalethes (Nick) is the Chief Executive Officer of Global Broadband Solutions (GBS), and one of the Company’s founders. GBS was formed in 1998, and since that time, Nick has served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. In June 2016, he was appointed CEO. He has more than 35 years of experience in all aspects of global telecommunications management and engineering.
Nick is a Subject Matter Expert and Principal Advisor to Senior Managers, Chief Engineers, Project Managers, and Military Officers concerning the planning, design, financing, implementation, and operations of advanced terrestrial and submarine fiber optic cable systems, and also high-speed satellite systems.
Nick is a Life Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). Nick holds a BS Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. He has completed graduate level studies at Baruch College, School of Business and Public Administration, and is a graduate of the Public Affairs Institute. Nick also holds an FCC Amateur Radio License, loves to dive, and an avid supporter for cancer research.
Peter Sillitto
Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer
Peter Sillitto is the chief operating officer of Global Broadband Solutions (GBS), and one of the founders. Peter served as Executive Vice President since the formation of GBS in 1998, and in June 2016, he was appointed COO.
Peter has more than 35 years of experience in business areas including customer service, sales and marketing, commercial and government contract management, strategic/financial planning, and extensive experience in business operations and executive management.
Peter is a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). Peter holds a B.S. Management, Canisius College, Buffalo, NY, and an M.B.A. Executive Management, with Distinction, Pace University, Pleasantville, NY.
Brad Yowell
Director GBS SubSea
Brad Yowell is the Director of the GBS Subsea business unit. Brad has been with GBS since 2005, supporting numerous aspects of telecommunications management and engineering.
Under Brad‘s leadership of the GBS Subsea Division, GBS has expanded Wet Plant Administration to support cable systems operating in the Atlantic/Caribbean region and also in the Pacific. Brad’s responsibilities include developing new business opportunities and product development in the Subsea market.
Brad has more than 15 years of global management experience and expertise related to telecommunications pricing, infrastructure, engineering and project management as it relates to both terrestrial and submarine fiber cable systems.
Brad holds a BS in Finance from James Madison University and an MS in Information Systems Technology Management from The George Washington University. Brad is a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
R. Bruce Morris
Senior Program Manager
Bruce is the Senior Program Manager for GBS Projects, worldwide. Bruce brings a dynamic range of architectural, engineering, operational and leadership skills to the GBS Leadership Team. Bruce is an industry-wide, recognized subject matter expert with extensive experience designing, engineering, building and managing major commercial and government telecommunications and research and development projects.
Former COO of the Great Eastern Group, Inc., Bruce led business units specializing in Marine Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Submarine Telecommunications and Alternative Energy. His diverse portfolio included the following programs: maritime industry operations management as part of a Naval Ship Operations Program; conducting Naval and commercial vessel logistics management; undersea ROV systems development and operations for both government agencies and commercial clients; and planning, design implementation and management for Submarine Fiber Optic Cable (SFOC) systems, worldwide.
Bruce’s current focus includes working closely with clients to develop solutions for all facets of SFOC and terrestrial fiber optic cable design, implementation, operations, administration, maintenance and repair as an integral part of the GBS Wet Plant Administration Program.
Bruce is a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the Homeland Security Professionals, National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and the Professional Association of Diving Instructors Certified (erPADI).
Bruce is a Commercially Licensed Small Unmanned Aircraft Pilot and is integrating drone video offerings into the GBS cable route services.
